Bayern Munich completed their third signing of the summer on Monday. Bara Sapoko Ndiaye underwent a medical at Sabner Strasse after a deal was struck between Bayern and Gambinos Stars. Ndiaye had spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayern.
The teenager’s good performances in the first team convinced Bayern to make his transfer permanent. He is set to take up the place of Leon Goretzka in the squad. The youngster will be the fourth-choice midfielder for Bayern behind Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Tom Bischof.
Earlier this summer, Bayern had signed Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown to strengthen the attack and defense, respectively. Ndiaye ends up giving Kompany another option in the center of the park.
After completing the signing of Ndiaye on Monday, Bayern are not expecting further signings unless there is a significant departure. While speaking to the media over the weekend (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, insisted that the squad looks strong and believes it is deep enough to compete on all fronts next season.
"We're very far along. We also don't want the squad to be too big this year. We want quality and, hopefully, players who remain available throughout the entire season. Bayern working on departures to balance books
The club hierarchy have worked efficiently this year after a chaotic last summer. They missed out on their top target, Anthony Gordon, but moved swiftly to secure other targets. The transfers of Saibari and Brown were completed at the start of July. They were struggling last summer after missing out on several top-priority signings. However, this summer the club chiefs can calmly monitor the market and remain ready to act if there is an incredible opportunity.
After significantly strengthening the squad with three signings, Freund and Max Eberl are focusing on balancing the books by arranging departures of players who are not part of the club’s plans for next season.
The Bavarian club managed to get substantial fees for Daniel Peretz and Alexander Nubel. Die Roten are currently looking to find clubs for Joao Palhinha, Bryan Zaragoza, and Sacha Boey. The Bundesliga champions have no plans to look for loan deals as they want permanent departures to raise funds.
There has been speculation around the futures of Luis Diaz and Michael Olise, but Bayern have no plans to part ways with their key attackers this summer.
As things stand, Bayern Munich don’t need new signings. Unless there is a shock departure or a very attractive market opportunity, the Bavarian club will not be scampering to complete signings in the coming weeks.
