Bayern need to fortify the attack
Whilst the situation in attack isn’t as grave as the one in defense, the attack has obvious needs. Bayern recently decided to move on from the great veteran Thomas Muller to facilitate a move for the superbly talented attacking midfielder-Florian Wirtz. However, it looks like the acquisition of the 22-year-old from Leverkusen is unlikely to happen since he favours a move to Liverpool.
Notwithstanding the pursuit of Wirtz, an upgrade on the left wing and a backup striker for Harry Kane should also be on the agenda. Over the course of last season, Kingsley Coman, Leroy Sane, and Serge Gnabry were pale in comparison to Michael Olise, who, on the right wing, was Bayern’s best winger throughout the season.
However, with both Coman and Gnabry still under contract beyond 2025, the sale of either player may not take place until after the Club World Cup tournament has been completed. With regard to Sané, as things currently stand, it won’t be a surprise to see him join another club on a free transfer later in the summer even if he represents Bayern at the Club World Cup.
