Bayern Munich have one of the best midfield duos in Europe. The midfield pairing of Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic were brilliant during the 4-3 win against Real Madrid on Tuesday. This midfield pairing has a great mix of intensity, experience, youthfulness, and precision in possession.

Even though Kimmich and Pavlovic are sublime midfielders, Bayern need additions in this department during the summer transfer window. Leon Goretzka will leave Die Roten on a free transfer at the end of the season. The Bavarian club needs a replacement for the German midfielder.

Bayern are initially looking to replace Goretzka with an internal option. They have already activated the buy-back option for Noël Aséko. The young midfielder left Bayern to join Hannover on a loan deal. Hannover had the option to make the move permanent, which they took up as Aséko delivered consistent performances. Bayern immediately activated the buyback option to bring him back to Munich in the summer.

Aséko will report for pre-season training at Sabner Strasse in the summer. Even though Bayern have got him back from Hannover, there is a concrete interest from several clubs across Europe.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, AS Roma have made a concrete inquiry for Aséko. The Italian club is serious about signing the 20-year-old midfielder in the summer. Aston Villa and Brighton are closely following the midfielder, while there is significant interest from several Bundesliga clubs.

Bayern want to monitor Aséko’s performances in pre-season

Die Roten are keen on seeing how Aséko performs during the pre-season tour. Considering how young players have done well under Vincent Kompany this season, Aséko will definitely get a chance to impress and make a case to be a regular member of the first team next season.

If Aséko ends up leaving Bayern in the summer, Sky Sports have reported that the record Bundesliga champions will look for a fee around €10-12 million.

Bayern are not expected to splurge in the transfer market this summer. They want to maintain economic stability while competing for the biggest trophies. It does look like the majority of the budget will be invested in a forward as they will be one player down in the attack. Nicolas Jackson will return to Chelsea in the summer after a decent loan spell at Bayern.

The Bavarian club has shown interest in Kennet Eichhorn to strengthen the midfield, but there is intense competition for the young German midfielder. If Eichhorn arrives in Munich, Aséko may have to look for a permanent transfer in the summer.
