Wingers most guilty of the poor finishing

As previously alluded to above, poor finishing was the main reason why Bayern didn’t blow PSG out of the water. Chief among the culprits, particularly in the first half, were Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané.

On a night when Harry Kane looked a bit off the pace and kept quiet by the opposition’s defense, others needed to step up. Kingsley Coman was Bayern’s best attacker on the night, but in the first half his finishing let him down twice after he had done brilliantly to get the better of the defense.

Similarly, Leroy Sané was just as profligate in front of goal whilst his overall play left a lot to be desired. Had either Coman or Sané managed to find the back of the net in the first half the game would not have been such a grind. Having pointed that out, their replacements, Serge Gnabry, and Michael Olise, during the second half, didn’t fare any better.
