Bayern Munich will be spoilt for options in the central attacking positions next season. The Bavarian club has strengthened the attack by signing Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven. The Moroccan attacker plays behind the striker or can operate as a number ten.
Along with Saibari, Vincent Kompany has different types of options in the number ten position behind Harry Kane. Jamal Musiala has been the primary number ten for Bayern ever since he broke into the first team. The German international has delivered brilliant performances in this position for Bayern across several seasons.
Musiala endured a difficult last 12 months due to a serious injury he suffered during the Club World Cup game against Paris Saint-Germain last summer. The German attacking midfielder had to undergo surgery and spend close to seven months on the sidelines to complete the recovery.
Even after the full recovery, Musiala took time to get back in rhythm. He had a positive end to the last season, but didn’t make a significant impact for Germany at the World Cup. In his column for Sky Sports in Germany, former Bayern defender Lothar Matthaus has set a challenge for Musiala to get back to his best. Matthaus believes Musiala risks losing his place in the starting XI if he doesn’t perform consistently due to the availability of different attacking options in the current squad.

Musiala was strangely linked with Galatasaray during the ongoing transfer window. The Turkish club has denied these reports, and Bayern also have no plans to part ways with Musiala. They consider him a key part of their present and future plans.
Max Eberl expects Musiala to shine next season
The German attacking midfielder underwent a scheduled surgery after returning from the World Cup to remove the metal plate from his left foot. This plate was inserted during the surgery last summer as part of the recovery from the injury.
Bayern’s director of sport, Max Eberl, has backed Musiala to get back to his best next season. He believes the removal of the metal plate will give the German international more freedom. Eberl is expecting Musiala to come up with the magic moments in the final third as he did before suffering the serious injury.

Musiala will continue the post-surgery recovery at Sabner Strasse when the squad flies to Asia for the pre-season tour. He is expected to be fit for the DFL Supercup, which is the first competitive game of the season for Bayern. The defending Bundesliga champions will face Borussia Dortmund in this game on August 22.
