Bayern Munich made a difficult decision in April as Thomas Muller was not given another contract. The German forward has spent the entirety of his senior career at Bayern, winning all possible trophies multiple times. Muller played his last game for Bayern at the Club World Cup when he came off the bench against Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-final.
The Bundesliga champions believe that it was the right time to part ways with Muller. The veteran German forward will certainly return to the club in some capacity when he retires from the game. For the time being, Muller is gearing up for his next adventure.
According to GiveMeSport, Muller has agreed to a deal with Vancouver Whitecaps. Vancouver have agreed terms with FC Cincinnati for the discovery rights of Muller. Bild, Sky Sports in Germany, and Fabrizio Romano have also confirmed that Muller is set to sign a two-year contract with Vancouver Whitecaps

Muller had quickly made it clear that he would not be retiring from the game. The German forward was not expected to play for any club in Europe, even though he can still do a fine job at the top level. MLS was always expected to be the destination for Muller, but Sydney FC from the A-League reportedly made an exciting offer.
Considering his fitness levels and quality on the pitch, Muller will be a big hit in the MLS. He can certainly get in touch with his former teammate, Alphonso Davies, to understand the league and specifically Vancouver Whitecaps. Davies had joined Bayern from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019.
Bayern yet to sign a replacement for Thomas Muller
Die Roten have massive boots to fill after they decided against offering a new deal to Muller. The German forward will be sorely missed on the pitch and in the dressing room next season. There is no direct replacement for his leadership skills.
From a sporting point of view, Bayern are yet to get a replacement for Muller. They have finally clinched the first attacking signing of the summer as Luis Diaz arrived in Munich on Tuesday to complete a €75 million move from Liverpool. The Colombian forward is more of a replacement for Leroy Sane on the left flank. Sane also left Bayern this summer on a free transfer to join Galatasaray.
VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade can be Muller’s replacement for Bayern. The German forward has already agreed on personal terms with Die Roten, but VfB Stuttgart are reluctant to sell. Stuttgart have already rejected two bids from Bayern. The Bundesliga champions could resume the negotiations with Stuttgart later this week once the deal to sign Diaz is over the line.
