The transfer window will pick up after the end of the World Cup on Sunday. Bayern Munich are not expected to be active in terms of incomings as they look to balance the books by listening to offers for fringe players.
The biggest talking point involving Bayern for the rest of the transfer window will be the future of Michael Olise. The French forward had a terrific World Cup as he ended the tournament with seven assists. Olise now holds the record for most assists in a single World Cup campaign, beating the great Pele’s record of six assists in 1970.
Real Madrid were linked with a move for Olise at the start of the summer. The Spanish club issued a statement denying reports that they are pursuing a move for the French forward.
Despite the denial from Real Madrid, the last few days have seen further speculation around Olise’s future. According to reports from France, Olise wants to join Real Madrid. While talking to Bild (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern legend Lothar Matthaus insisted that even though the wish of the French forward to join Real Madrid is understandable, Die Roten are unlikely to entertain offers this summer.

Bayern planning new contract offer for Olise
The Bavarian club considers Olise one of their key players. He has been marvellous since arriving from Crystal Palace in 2024. Olise is currently the best right-sided winger in Europe.
Die Roten cannot afford to lose Olise this summer. They want him in the squad to achieve the target of winning the Champions League. Moreover, Bayern cannot afford to lose Olise to one of their top European rivals.
Considering how the transfer market is trending, Rekordmeister can get a fee of €150-200 million for Olise. It will put Bayern in an incredible financial position, but significantly weaken their sporting project. With all these factors in consideration, Bayern can simply not afford to lose Olise this summer.
The Bundesliga champions will look to open contract talks with Olise sooner rather than later. His current deal expires in 2029. Bayern will look to reward his performances with a significant pay rise and extend the length of his contract at least until 2031.
The next few days will be intriguing, as transfer speculation may get stronger. Olise is expected to report for pre-season training once the Bayern squad returns from the tour of Asia. The Bavarian faithful will hope Olise remains a Bayern player by the time he returns to Sabner Strasse in August.
