After playing a couple of friendly games in Germany, Bayern Munich travel to Asia for the pre-season tour. Vincent Kompany’s squad will spend eight days in Asia and play two friendly games against Jeju SK and Aston Villa.
Considering it is a World Cup year, Bayern will not have the entire squad available for the pre-season tour as a few players are still on the summer break. The likes of Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Dayot Upamecano will report for pre-season training once the squad returns from Asia, as they went deep into the World Cup with their national teams.
Along with these three stars, Bayern have also left five important players in Munich as they continue to recover from their respective injuries.
Jamal Musiala has started training on the pitch after undergoing a scheduled surgery after the World Cup to remove a steel plate from his foot. The German attacking midfielder is hoping to get back to his best next season after a challenging 12 months due to a serious injury.
Bayern have also decided to keep Davies in Munich as he has just recovered from injury. The Canadian full-back also had a difficult last season due to injuries. It is not surprising to see Bayern being cautious when it comes to handling the recovery of Musiala and Davies. They want both players firing on all cylinders next season.
Ismael Saibari starts training for Bayern at Sabner Strasse
Ismael Saibari had his first training session as a Bayern player this week. The Moroccan forward joined Bayern last month from PSV Eindhoven for €55 million. He suffered an injury during the round of 16 game at the World Cup, which ruled him out for the quarter-final clash against France.
Saibari is still recovering from this injury, so he was spotted training individually this week. Bayern want him to complete his recovery in Munich and train with the team once they return from Asia.

Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl are still recovering from their respective injuries. Bayern are hoping Karl will be fit to train with the first team after the pre-season tour. Meanwhile, Gnabry may need more time to join the first team training. Bryan Zaragoza is also training at Sabner Strasse as he is recovering from knee inflammation. The Spaniard is expected to leave Die Roten before the end of the transfer window.
Luis Diaz, Konrad Laimer, and Josip Stanisic have reported for pre-season training this week. They trained with the squad on Saturday before the squad flew to Asia. All three players are expected to play in the friendly game against Jeju SK on Tuesday. Despite facing an uncertain future at Bayern, Sacha Boey and Joao Palhinha have also travelled with the squad for the pre-season tour.
Vincent Kompany has also named five young players in the squad for the pre-season. Felipe Chávez. Maycon Cardozo, Guido Della Rovere, Filip Pavić, Bastian Assomo, and Tim Binder will get a chance to impress Kompany and make a case to stay around the first team next season.
