Reminder of current lack of depth in squad
With a packed schedule; a long injury list and frequent international breaks it’s not unreasonable to think that fatigue amongst the players may have contributed to the letdown at the start of the second half.
Additionally, whilst Jackson was a disappointment in his second Bundesliga start, Luis Diaz, who had been tormenting the Dortmund defense in the first half, eventually had a relapse of ‘misplaced shooting boots’ as he failed to find the back of the net from four attempts on goal, including a one-on-one with the keeper in second-half added time. Under such circumstances, it would have been a welcome relief to have had the currently injured duo of Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala as options off the bench to rejuvenate the attack.
