Nicolas Jackson’s struggles continue

Whilst Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Joshua Kimmich were able to rise to the occasion, the same can’t be said of Nicolas Jackson. With Serge Gnabry unavailable due to injury, the Senegalese striker got the chance to lead the attack, but ultimately failed to make the most of the opportunity.

In 61 minutes of action, Jackson failed to register a single shot on goal, and seemed uncertain at times when to lead the press. He was eventually replaced by Leon Goretzka.

Based on this recent performance from Jackson, there is still little reason to believe he would be signed permanently at the end of the season. Fans can only hope that the 24-year-old striker finds his way over the course of the current season despite the unlikelihood of being signed for the long term thereafter.
