Bayern Munich have been prolific in the attack this season. They have scored 113 goals in the Bundesliga this season. Bayern are 12 goals away from matching the record for most goals in a league campaign across the top five leagues in Europe.
The Bavarian club has also been prolific in the Champions League. In the recent Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid, Bayern clinched a 6-4 win on aggregate. Every forward has chipped in with crucial contributions for Die Roten this season, with Harry Kane leading the goal-scoring charts.
Bayern will be one forward short next season as Max Eberl has confirmed the club’s decision not to sign Nicolas Jackson on a permanent deal. The Senegalese striker will return to Chelsea after a decent loan spell in Munich.
Jackson has largely been a deputy to Kane this season. He has managed to get a game time of just over 1000 minutes since Kane started almost every game. Bayern may look to sign a replacement for Jackson, someone who can step up in the absence of Kane. It does look like Die Roten are keeping a close eye on one of the strikers from Serie A for this role.
According to Sky Sports Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio (via iMiaSanMia), Dusan Vlahovic can become an option for Bayern in the summer if he decides against signing anew deal at Juventus. The Serbian striker will be available on a free transfer in the summer if he fails to agree a new deal in the next six weeks. AC Milan are also keen on signing Vlahovic.
The Serbian striker has not been prolific for Juventus this season. To be fair to him, Vlahovic has missed 25 games this season due to injuries. He has managed to get game time of 886 minutes. His output during this game time has been six goals and two assists.
If Vlahovic can rediscover the form that got him a move to Juventus a few years ago, he will be an astute signing for Die Roten on a free transfer.
Bayern’s current priority in the attack is a winger
The Bundesliga champions are currently prioritizing a move for a wide player to add more depth on the left flank. Someone like Vlahovic will be a market opportunity for Bayern, provided he can join on reasonable wages.
Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon is the top transfer target for Bayern in the attack for the summer transfer window. It remains to be seen if they will push for more forwards if Gordon ends up moving to Munich.
