Friday marked the second day of international football in this October international break. As it happens, there was only one team with Bayern Munich players that had a game, as Germany traveled to Bosnia & Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League. Let's see how they got on.

Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry, on his return to international football after an 11-month absence, both started this game. Aleksandar Pavlović was also due to start the game, but felt discomfort, and instead Julian Nagelsmann went with a double pivot of Pascal Groß and Robert Andrich. Fingers crossed that it is nothing serious.

Despite VIncent Kompany exclusively playing Kimmich as a midfielder for Bayern so far this season, Nageslmann once again opted for the 29-year old at right-back for this one. Meanwhile, Gnabry would be just in front of him, on the right flank.

Germany went into the break 2-0 up thanks to a brace from Deniz Undav, who had a goal for a hat-trick disallowed by VAR. Despite a goal back from veteran and old Bayern foe Edin Dzeko, Germany were able to hold on for a 2-1 win. Gnabry had a goal disallowed goal himself in the second period.

The winger played 82 minutes on his return to the national team, in a lively game where he created a big chance and was a consistent threat with runs in behind the Bosnia backline. Captain Kimmich played the whole game. The skipper had another good game, with over 100 touches to his name whilst creating a big chance, along with winning five of his six ground duels throughout the game.

This win leaves Germany top of their UEFA Nations League group, with seven points from three games. Next up for Kimmich, Gnabry, and hopefully Pavlović is a home game against the Netherlands. The showdown is on Monday night, with kick-off being 20:45 CEST.
