It has been a disappointing week for Bayern Munich in the transfer market. The Bundesliga champions were counting on Florian Wirtz to leave Bayer Leverkusen and join them this summer. However, Liverpool have managed to convince Wirtz to move to Merseyside over Munich.

Wirtz has given the nod to Liverpool and agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions. Bayern president Herbert Hainer confirmed on Sunday that the 22-year-old is prioritizing a move to Merseyside this summer.

Bayern was expected to spend the bulk of their budget on Wirtz this summer since Bayer Leverkusen have slapped a price of €150 million on the German international. Since Thomas Muller is set to depart this summer, Bayern must use these funds to sign other forwards.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern are showing concrete interest in Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma. The Japanese winger is a top candidate for Bayern to strengthen the wide areas. The 28-year-old winger can leave Brighton if Bayern cough up €50 million for him.

Mitoma has excelled for Brighton over the last couple of seasons. His pace and dribbling have caused problems for Premier League defenders. The Japanese winger has scored 10 goals in the Premier League this season and chipped in with three assists.

Apart from Mitoma, Bayern have also discussed internally about a move for Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze. The English winger has been in fine form for Palace this season and helped them lift the FA Cup a week ago. Eze has 15 goals and 11 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. Eze has a release clause worth £60 million in his contract that will be active in the summer.

Rafael Leao is another option for Bayern in attack

Along with the two Premier League forwards, Sky Sports have reported that Bayern also hold an interest in AC Milan winger Rafael Leao. The Portuguese winger is expected to leave Milan in the summer. Leao will be an expensive signing since his contract at AC Milan expires in 2028.

The former Sporting Lisbon winger has 12 goals and nine assists to his name across all competitions. Leao has been a consistent performer for Milan over the last couple of seasons and looks ready to take the next step in his career.

Bayern have also been linked with Jamie Gittens and Nico Williams in the past few months. It remains to be seen if Die Roten will sign two wingers this summer after missing out on Florian Wirtz.
