Bayern Munich have completed their business in terms of incomings for this summer. They have also strengthened the squad by extending the contract of Konrad Laimer. Bayern are hoping to conclude contract talks with Harry Kane sooner rather than later.
The English forward will report for pre-season next week. Kane got an extended break alongside Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano as England and France reached the semi-final of the World Cup.
Kane has consistently insisted that he is happy at Bayern. With his contract expiring next summer, Bayern are eager to offer him a new deal. It is a no-brainer for Bayern to extend his contract as he has been a prolific goalscorer for the team over the last three seasons.
With Kane keen on staying, Bayern should be successful in getting him signed for the next four seasons. By the time the new contract expires, Kane will be 36. Bayern will have to eventually think about a long-term successor for the English striker.
According to SportBild’s Christian Falk, Bayern retain an interest in Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenian striker moved to Manchester United from RB Leipzig last summer for €76.5 million, with an additional €8.5 million in performance-related add-ons. Die Roten have been linked with Sesko consistently over the last few seasons as he excelled for RB Leipzig.
Sesko had a decent debut season for Manchester United, scoring 12 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions. The 23-year-old striker had a very productive second half of the season. With age on his side, Sesko is going to get better.
Along with having different types of finishes in his arsenal, Sesko is very good at linking up play in the final third and has very nimble feet. He has all the tools to become a complete striker.
Manchester United not expected to entertain offers for Sesko
The Slovenian striker is highly rated at Manchester United, so any move to Bayern will be complicated in the near future. Moreover, the transfer fee expectations from the Old Trafford side will be exorbitant since they paid a big fee for him 12 months ago.
Sesko will certainly be a topic at Bayern if he continues to excel at Old Trafford. For now, Bayern are not expected to sign a striker anytime soon as Kane continues to score goals for fun.
The Bavarian club will deploy Ismael Saibari in the number nine role at times next season whenever Kane needs rest. The Moroccan forward can play in the central roles in the final third.
