Bayern Munich have learnt lessons from last summer as they have done their transfer business more efficiently this year. They have already completed the deals for Nathaniel Brown and Isamael Saibari, strengthening the defense and midfield, respectively.
Along with signing new players, Bayern had to sort out two crucial contract extensions this summer. The Bundesliga champions have managed to achieve one contract extension midway through the summer transfer window.
Bayern announced on Monday that Konrad Laimer signed a contract extension until 2029. The Austrian midfielder arrived at Sabner Strasse on Monday to complete the formalities and put pen to paper.
Laimer told the club’s media team that he feels completely settled in Munich and likes to play for Bayern. The Austrian midfielder is excited about competing for the biggest trophies with the talented squad assembled by the club under the leadership of Vincent Kompany.
Max Eberl heaped praise on Laimer and insisted that his work rate and effort to give his best every day inspire everyone in the squad.

Bayern stance on Laimer’s contract extensions reaped rewards
Laimer has consistently insisted over the last season that he is open to staying at Bayern. The club chiefs were also content with the performances of Laimer. Talks were expected to move swiftly for a new deal.
However, things didn’t go as planned. The talks between the two parties reached an impasse due to Laimer's wage expectations. Uli Hoeness further complicated the situation by saying not everyone can get superstar wages.
Despite the impasse in contract talks, the relationship between Laimer and Bayern remained sound. The Austrian midfielder has been a revelation in the right-back position for Bayern in the last two seasons under Vincent Kompany. Talks eventually resumed, and both parties managed to reach a figure that benefits all parties.
Laimer has a big role to play for Bayern next season. He can deliver at least a 7/10 performance every weekend. The Austrian will start the season as first-choice right-back, but he will play on the left side of the back four and in midfield over the course of the season. His exemplary work rate out of possession makes him important for Kompany’s high-intensity style of football.
