Bayern Munich are not expecting a busy winter transfer window as they have all positions covered. The defending Bundesliga champions will only dip into the market if a long-term target becomes available.
The Bavarian club is also not expecting significant departures in January. Sacha Boey is expected to leave as he is not part of Vincent Kompany’s plans. The French defender was expected to leave in the summer, but Die Roten never received concrete offers.
Bayern may receive enquiries for their key players in the winter transfer window. They received multiple offers for Leon Goretzka last winter, but Bayern decided to keep him until the end of the season. The Bavarian club may similarly receive offers for their other senior players early next year.
Kim Min-jae can potentially become a candidate for Arsenal in the winter transfer window. According to Bild, Arsenal’s head of scouting, Maurizio Micheli, has put forward Kim Min-jae’s name to strengthen the defense. Micheli had played a key role in bringing the South Korean defender to Napoli a few years ago.
Bayern have no plans to part ways with Kim Min-jae. The South Korean has started the season strongly. Die Roten will rebuff interest from Arsenal and other interested clubs. They are likely to sit down with Kim Min-jae to discuss a new contract. His current deal is set to expire in 2028.
Kim Min-jae is content with life at Bayern
Along with Bayern, Kim Min-jae is also not actively looking for a transfer away from Munich. Several reports in Germany over the last two years have suggested that Bayern have been open to listening to offers for the South Korean defender. However, Kim Min-jae never pushed for a transfer and always remained insistent on fighting for a place in the starting XI.
The former Napoli defender has impressed Vincent Kompany with his performances over the last two seasons. Even though he is not the first-choice center-back, Kim Min-jae steps up for the team whenever he is needed.
Bayern currently have three senior center-backs with a fourth option in the form of Hiroki Ito. They would ideally like to stick with all of them at least until the end of the season.
Kim Min-jae has already made five appearances for Bayern this season. He will end up getting adequate game time over the course of the season. There is no reason for him to actively pursue a transfer in January. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he ends up signing a new deal since he remains keen on winning more trophies at Bayern.
