Change of strategy for wide players

Bayern Munich suffered another untimely injury to the left-back position when Josip Stanisic had to be assisted off the pitch with a knee injury only minutes after the second half began. A tough blow for the home side as Chelsea's biggest threat, Cole Palmer, can feast on the inexperience at the position of Konrad Laimer. To adapt to this sudden turn of events, Luis Diaz and Serge Gnabry had to frequently track back to maintain a numerical advantage against Palmer.

Vincent Kompany was also very vocal on the sideline to make sure the players understood their new duties and changes to the tactical setup.

Despite adversity, Bayern managed to keep a clean sheet in the second half and neutralized one of Europe's most exciting offenses.
