Bayern Munich are not planning new signings in the final two days of the transfer window. The Bavarian club is pleased with the business they have done this summer. The club hierarchy believes that the squad is strong enough to compete on all fronts.

In the final days of the transfer window, Bayern have been working on the contract extension of Harry Kane. The English forward has entered the final year of his current deal. Die Roten are eager to keep Kane at the club after holding preliminary talks last season.

Kane reported for pre-season training a couple of weeks ago as he reached the semi-final stage of the World Cup with England. The English forward had a short pre-season. Die Roten had planned to hold talks with the 33-year-old once he returns from the summer break.

The former Spurs forward was surprisingly not on the scoresheet against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, but his overall performance was promising. While talking to AZ over the weekend, Kane provided a positive update regarding the contract negotiations with Bayern regarding a new contract.

"The talks started last week - so far, so good. But this isn’t something that can be done in a week or two. It’s about the details. I’m 33, so this will probably be my last contract - well, big contract. It's looking pretty good."

While talking to the media, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen insisted that Die Roten have a strong relationship with Kane and his representatives. It certainly looks like talks will soon come to a positive conclusion in the next couple of weeks.

Bayern campaigning for Kane to win Ballon d’Or

Kane had a phenomenal 2025/26 season, scoring more than 70 goals for club and country. The English striker was recently awarded the Golden Boot for last season. It was his second European Golden Boot in three years.

The English forward won the domestic double with Bayern last season and finished with the bronze medal at the World Cup with England. Considering his goal-scoring exploits and silverware with Bayern, there is a strong case for him to win the Ballon d’Or.

Bayern chiefs have publicly backed Kane to lift the Ballon d’Or this year. However, the English forward may fall short since he didn’t win the Champions League. There is a strong possibility of one of the top forwards from Paris Saint-Germain winning the title as the French side won the Champions League last season. Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal also has a strong case as he won La Liga at the club level and helped Spain lift the World Cup in the summer.

Nevertheless, Kane should comfortably finish in the top five for the Ballon d’Or. The English forward will be eager to get his hands on the Champions League title this season as he is yet to enjoy European success in Bayern colours.
