After France got knocked out of the World Cup two weeks ago, there has been significant speculation around the future of Michael Olise at Bayern Munich. The French forward is reportedly keen on a move to Madrid, but Die Roten have no plans to sanction a transfer.

Olise was heavily linked with a move to the Spanish capital at the start of the summer when Florentino Perez was re-elected as the president of Real Madrid. However, Los Blancos released a statement to insist that they are not pursuing a move for Olise.

Real Madrid also reiterated that they have a good relationship with Bayern. They denied the reports linking Olise to ensure this relationship doesn’t get hampered. However, the French media went big after France’s elimination from the World Cup that Olise wants to pursue a move to the La Liga side.

Bayern have consistently insisted since the end of the season that Olise is not going anywhere. After Die Roten’s first pre-season game against Wehen Wiesbaden on Saturday, Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund told AZ that Olise is not going anywhere this summer and expects the French forward to play an important role for Die Roten next season.

"That's not a topic for us at all. We're looking forward to Michael returning from his vacation. He will play an important role for FC Bayern this season, just as he did last season as well."

The comments from Freund should end the speculation around the French forward. Olise will report for pre-season training in August when the squad returns from the tour of Asia. He has been granted extra weeks off since France almost played the entire World Cup.

Bayern are expected to open contract talks with Olise. His current deal expires in 2029, but Die Roten should ideally look to extend it until 2031. The French winger also deserves a wage hike for his incredible and consistent performances since arriving from Crystal Palace in 2024

Real Madrid have turned their attention to RB Leipzig winger

It does look like Real Madrid’s interest in Olise has ended at least for this summer. The Spanish club has turned their attention to another Bundesliga player to strengthen the attack.

Real Madrid are reportedly in concrete negotiations with RB Leipzig to sign Yann Diomande. The Ivory Coast winger was also on Bayern’s radar, but Leipzig’s demands of over €100 million made this transfer a non-starter for them. Real Madrid are competing with Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of Diomande.

The Bavarian faithful will be pleased and relieved to see the speculation around Olise’s future end before the team starts the new season.
