Bayern Munich currently have one of the best attacking units. They have two players in the current squad who are favourites for the Ballon d’Or: Harry Kane and Michael Olise. Bayern need to do everything possible to keep both players in the squad on a long-term basis.
The Bavarian club is locked in positive talks with Kane. The English striker is confident about signing the new deal after the international break. Kane had entered the final year of his current deal at Die Roten.
Olise has several years left on his current contract. The French forward signed a contract until 2029 when he arrived from Crystal Palace in 2024. The 24-year-old has established himself as one of Europe's best wingers during his time at Bayern.
The French winger was subject to interest from Real Madrid in the summer. The Spanish club reportedly wanted to make Olise their statement signing, but Bayern had no plans to part ways with him.
While talking to AZ this week, Bayern’s supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insisted that the club needs to sit down with Olise sooner rather than later to keep him at the club on a long-term basis. Rummenigge insisted that Olise is potentially the best winger in the world at this point.
"He's under contract until 2029. At some point, the club will have to sit down with him and present him with an appropriate offer. He's exceptional in his position. There are two outstanding players in that role: Olise and Lamine Yamal. At the moment, I'd even say Olise’s game is more mature."Karl-Heinz Rummenigge
Bayern should begin contract talks with Olise this season
In an ideal scenario, Bayern begin contract talks with Olise this season and try to find an agreement by next summer. This will ensure Die Roten have clarity before Olise enters the final two years of his contract.
Since Olise is yet to enter the peak of his career, Bayern must keep him at the club for the next five to six years. He has the perfect platform to win individual and collective honours at Bayern.
Olise has enjoyed a terrific start to the new season. He has already scored seven goals across all competitions, which includes his first hat trick for Bayern as he netted thrice against Union Berlin before the international break. The 24-year-old is also excelling for France during the international break. He has also grabbed nine assists for France in 2026. His performances at the World Cup further strengthened the shouts of calling him the best winger in the world.
Bayern did well to beat interest from several clubs to sign Olise in 2024. They have to once again fend off interest from European rivals to keep Olise in Munich on a long-term basis.
