The wait is over. Bayern Munich finally lifts the Bundesliga trophy after one of the club's most successful campaigns ever. However, the final league game of the season on Saturday was also the last Bundesliga match for three players in Bayern's squad: Leon Goretzka, Raphael Guerreiro, and Nicolas Jackson.
Bayern paid tribute to these players ahead of the game by presenting them with honorary posters with all the best memories in red and white.
Leon Goretzka's departure emotional for Bayern fans
The midfielder spent eight years at the Allianz Arena and became an instrumental part of the club's domestic dominance and European glory. A seven-time Bundesliga champion, Goretzka played 311 games for Bayern, recorded 51 goals and 53 assists. He started in Hansi Flick's legendary sextuple-winning squad in 2019/20.
Goretzka said goodbye to Munich, leaving countless memories for the fans. He will surely be remembered as one of Bayern's "streets won't forget" players.
Raphael Guerreiro arrived at the Allianz Arena in 2023 on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund. In three years at Bayern, he became a two-time Bundesliga champion. Guerreiro featured in 94 games for Die Roten, often deployed off the bench as a utility man.
The Portuguese played in almost every position throughout his stint at Bayern, mainly as a left-back and an attacking midfielder, especially during his last season at the club. Guerreiro scored 14 goals and added eight assists in his most successful years in terms of team achievement in his career.
Nicolas Jackson will return to Chelsea after a decent loan spell with Bayern Munich. The 24-year-old scored 11 goals alongside four assists in 34 appearances. All three players suited up in Bayern's last league game of the season against FC Köln.
Leon Goretzka started and grabbed an assist for Harry Kane before being substituted off in the 83rd minute to a standing ovation from the crowd at the Allianz Arena.
Nicolas Jackson came on for Goretzka and immediately made an impact. It took the Senegalese international just one minute to find the back of the net, his fourth goal this year coming off the bench.
Raphael Guerreiro came close to scoring twice with two volleys inside the box. Unfortunately, he could not find the perfect touch to put his name on the scoresheet.
The team cruised to a 5-1 victory as the trio lifted their last Bundesliga titles as Bayern players.
They can still suit up in red and white one last time in the DFB-Pokal final coming next week against Stuttgart.
