Even though club football has halted after the end of the season, Bayern Munich players are still playing, but for their countries at the World Cup. The last week has seen the first round of games across the 12 groups. It is fair to say Bayern forwards have enjoyed a great start to the season.

Harry Kane grabbed a brace last night to help England clinch a 4-2 win against Croatia. The first goal came through a penalty. Kane had his first attempt saved, but the referee instructed him to retake the penalty since the goalkeeper came off the line. The English striker didn’t make a mistake on the second attempt.

The 32-year-old scored England’s second goal through an emphatic header. Declan Rice delivered a brilliant cross from the corner to find Kane in the box. Kane delivered a very strong performance, helping the team to create chances without compromising his finishing edge in the final third.

Luis Diaz also had a great first game with Colombia at the World Cup. He was on the scoresheet against Uzbekistan on Wednesday. The former Liverpool forward also assisted the first goal for the South American side.

Michael Olise shines for France

Kylian Mbappe scored a brace for France against Senegal, but Michael Olise was adjudged the man of the match for delivering a clinical performance. Olise created the first goal for France and played an important role in Mbappe’s second goal.

The French winger showed immaculate quality with the ball, running the show for France in the final third. The game against Senegal showed why Bayern are not keen on entertaining any offer for him this summer. Real Madrid were heavily linked with Olise over the last few weeks. The Bundesliga champions are eager to extend the contract of the former Crystal Palace forward.

Jamal Musiala was also on the scoresheet when Germany played against Curacao. The 2014 World Champions had put on a show as they clinched a 7-1 win in the first group game of the season. It will be a big boost for Musiala’s confidence as he looks to get back to his best after a difficult season due to injuries.

Bayern fans also got to see what the hype is around Ismael Saibari, as he was on the scoresheet against Brazil. The Moroccan forward is close to completing a move to Bayern. The Bavarian faithful will hope to see all Bayern attacks flourish at the World Cup and return to the Säbener Strasse full of confidence.
