Escaping the injury woes
Bayern came into the season extremely depleted with three major injuries from Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and Hiroki Ito. Davies returned in December after a devastating ACL tear. However, he could not maintain his fitness throughout the season with various hamstring and muscle injuries.
Musiala also came back from a broken leg after missing the entire first half of the season. It is expected that the German attacker will be used with caution, which is why he also missed a small chunk of the second half.
Manuel Neuer was occasionally absent, but Urbig was ready to step up. Josip Stanisic and Konrad Laimer both went down injured around February, but Bayern managed well in a few games without their service. Serge Gnabry's injury is probably the hardest-hitting as it came during the most crucial stage of the season.
Having said that, it is impossible for a team to go the whole season without some players suffering minor setbacks. Other than two expected cases, Bayern fortunately did not suffer too much of a blow injury-wise.
The trio of Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz generally stayed fit the whole season, despite the lack of backup depth in their positions. The centre midfielders also had a healthy season. The same goes for all three centre-backs.
Thanks to that, Vincent Kompany was able to maintain a good backbone in the starting lineup despite not having too many players to work with.
A big shout-out to Bayern's medical team for keeping the players injury-free. Finger cross, the same thing happens next season.
