Record number of academy debuts
In the past few years, Bayern Munich has often been criticised as a wasteland for young talents. However, that narrative has taken a 180-degree turn this season.
Vincent Kompany has given Bundesliga debut opportunities to nine players this campaign: Lennart Karl, Wisdom Mike, David Santos Daiber, Cassiano Kiala, Filipe Chavez, Maycon Cardozo, Erblin Osmani, Bara Sapoko Ndiaye and Deniz Ofli.
Karl has been an integral part of the first team, starring in 26 Bundesliga games this season, scoring five goals and adding five assists.
Bara Ndiaye was also given starting opportunities at the end of the season when Bayern had to focus on the Champions League and decided to rest the starters.
Vincent Kompany has been a wonder for Bayern Munich Campus, and it is guaranteed that we will see more starlets making their first-team appearance in the coming seasons.
