Tom Bischof
With Joshua Kimmich grieving personal loss, Vincent Kompany decided to give Tom Bischof a start alongside Aleksandar Pavlovic in the center of the park. It was a big game for Bischof as he is tipped to be a key midfield player for Die Roten this season after the departure of Leon Goretzka.
Bischof repaid the faith of Bayern and Kompany with a very good performance against some of the best midfielders in the world.
The 21-year-old was very tidy on the ball, completing 96% of the passes he attempted in the game. Bischof also deserves credit for not being too safe with his passes. He created two chances in the game and seven passes in the final third.

From a defensive point of view, Bischof stood his ground and made four recoveries. He was dribbled past only once in the entire 90 minutes. The only missing part in Bischof’s performance against Arsenal was a goal or an assist.
Bischof’s performance against Arsenal will give Bayern a lot of confidence. The 21-year-old should look to build on this performance and gradually get more game time for the record Bundesliga champions.
