It has been a sensational season for Leroy Sane at Bayern Munich until now. The German winger has struggled for inconsistency since arriving from Manchester City in 2020, but he has been in sublime form this campaign. Sane has worked hard under Thomas Tuchel to achieve this consistency in performances.

The German winger is enjoying the role he has in Tuchel’s 4-2-3-1 system. Moreover, Sane has also formed a very strong relationship with Harry Kane in the final third. He has cemented a place in Tuchel’s strongest starting XI at Bayern.

The German winger has contributed with nine goals and seven assists for Die Roten this season across all competitions. Sane always had decent numbers in the final third, but he often struggled for consistency in his performances at Die Roten. He has managed to marry numbers and performances together this season.

Bayern are also pleased with Sane’s performances under Tuchel this season. With his contract expiring in 2025, Die Roten want to tie down Sane’s future. The German winger is in no rush to sign a new deal as he is firmly focussing on his performances on the pitch. It does look like movement regarding talks over his new deal is set to take place after the ongoing international break.

According to SportBild’s Christian Falk, Bayern’s sporting director- Christoph Freund, will hold talks with Leroy Sane’s agent- Fali Ramadani, over a new deal after the international break. The German winger is settled in Munich, so there are good chances of the forward signing a new deal.

Sane’s good form has attracted interest from Liverpool. Barcelona also reportedly showed interest in Sane during the summer transfer window, but the German winger was eager to stay in Munich. Tuchel was also eager to get the best out of Sane, which he has managed to do this season.

With Sane entering the peak years of his career, it makes sense for Bayern to secure his future as soon as possible. The German international is one of the highest earners in the current squad, so it will be interesting to see how Die Roten improve his contract without disturbing the balance in the wage bill.
