After a slow start to the new season due to injury, Jamal Musiala has looked back to his best in the past few weeks. Musiala helped Bayern Munich clinch all three points in Turkey against Galatasaray on Tuesday by scoring the third goal. The German attacking midfielder also played a pivotal role in Die Roten’s second goal.

Musiala has firmly established himself as the first choice number ten at Bayern under Thomas Tuchel. He has managed to beat the competition from experienced Thomas Muller to become a mainstay in the starting XI.

Bayern considers Musiala to be part of their spine for the next decade. The youngster is a key player for the team on the pitch due to his impressive dribbling and passing. Musiala is already one of the best players in Europe, so Die Roten is eager to secure his future.

However, Musiala is set to take time to make a decision on his next contract. According to SportBild (via iMiaSanMia), Musiala and his representatives want to wait until the end of the season to start talks over a new deal. The youngster is expecting to get a rise in wages (€8m per year) after becoming a key member of the first team. Meanwhile, Bayern are eager to extend his new contract.

Musiala’s current deal lasts until June 2026. The youngster will have two years on his contract by the time the transfer window opens next summer. Several clubs are keeping a close eye on Musiala’s situation in Bavaria if both parties fail to reach an agreement over a new contract.

Liverpool have been already linked with Musiala. SportBild has now revealed that Manchester City and Pep Guardiola are also interested in signing Jamal Musiala from Bayern. Apart from these two English clubs, other top European clubs will also be in the mix if there is a rift between the player and Die Roten over the new deal.

It will be a disaster for Bayern if they fail to extend Musiala’s contract. He can be part of the team’s spine for a decade. Moreover, he is a German international. Losing a talented young homegrown player to one of the European rivals will be catastrophic for Rekordmeister. They don’t have to worry about Musiala just yet, but talks over a new contract need to start sooner rather than later.

Bayern should be currently worried about the contract situation of Alphonso Davies. The young left-back has less than 18 months left on his contract. Real Madrid are reportedly working in the background to sign him next summer. Similar to Musiala, Bayern cannot afford to lose Davies to a European rival.
