Bayern Munich ready to listen offers for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in January
Bayern Munich have been in sensational goal-scoring form this season. Harry Kane has hit the ground running for the Bavarian club after arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in August. The English striker has been well-supported by Bayern forwards this season.
Along with Kane, Mathys Tel is another Bayern striker who is enjoying a solid campaign. The French forward may not be getting enough game time, but he is making the most out of opportunities from the bench. Tel is currently averaging a goal every 49 minutes for Bayern this season.
The form of Kane and Tel has certainly impacted the playing time for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. The Cameroon international has got 103 minutes of game time in the Bundesliga this season. Choupo-Moting has scored one goal in the league this campaign, but his playing time is unlikely to improve if Tel and Kane continue their good run of form.
According to SportBild (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern are ready to listen to offers for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the winter transfer window. January will be the last opportunity for Die Roten to get a fee for him since his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
It remains to be seen if Choupo-Moting is also ready to leave or fight for playing time at Bayern. The 34-year-old forward was subject to interest from Manchester United last season, but the English club has signed Rasmus Hojlund in the summer. It remains to be seen if the Red Devils still want an experienced striker.
Choupo-Moting has been a solid signing for Bayern. He arrived from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2020. In three seasons in Bavaria, the Cameroon international has scored 37 goals in 94 appearances across all competitions. He also has ten assists to his name in the Bavarian shirt.
The former PSG striker is a proper team player, as he works hard in and out of possession. Choupo-Moting was in sensational form for Bayern last season when they needed goals from him after the departure of Robert Lewandowski. He is also a great leader off the pitch, so it may not be a wise decision to part ways with him midway through the season.

In the best possible scenario, Bayern will get at most €15-20 million for Choupo-Moting. Unless there is a need to raise funds for arrivals, selling Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting midway through the campaign doesn’t make sense. Since Bayern are competing on all fronts, they need a bigger pool of players for the entire season.
