FC Copenhagen 1-2 Bayern Munich: Player Ratings
The Copenhagen fans were in fine voice at the Parken Stadium on Tuesday as they welcomed Bayern Munich for the first time in the Champions League. It was an intense atmosphere and Jacob Neestrup had his team set up with a strong structure and plenty of discipline.
Bayern were forced to try and find their way through in the first half, with Copenhagen putting men behind the ball and building a wall on the edge of their area. For all their possession, they were unable to break through in the first 45.
The second half was back and forward and Bayern’s 35 group stage match unbeaten run looked in danger of falling after Lukas Lerager opened the scoring for the home team. However, a moment of magic from Jamal Musiala and a well-worked team goal helped Bayern to clinch all three points on what was a very difficult and very testing night in Denmark.
Bayern Munich Player Ratings vs. FC Copenhagen
Goalkeeper
Sven Ulreich – 8
He couldn’t do anything about the goal, but my take on Ulreich is usually consistent. Absolutely nothing wrong with him, but his passing ability lacks the quality that Bayern want from their keeper. Too many of his passes were misdirected and found the Copenhagen defenders. However, the save at the end of the game to secure all three points made sure that it was a decent outing for Ulreich.
