The good start to the Bundesliga campaign continued for Bayern Munich on Saturday. The defending champions delivered an eye-catching performance at Allianz Arena to clinch a 7-0 win against VfL Bochum on matchday five of the Bundesliga.

Courtesy of the big win against Bochum, Bayern moved to the top of the league table. Thomas Tuchel will be pleased to see the team showing intent in the final third and keep Bochum at bay to earn a clean sheet. Almost every Bayern played did a good job on Saturday afternoon, but the following three players stole the show.

Harry Kane

Harry Kane continues to show why Bayern broke their transfer record to sign him. The English forward scored his first hat trick for Die Roten on Saturday. Kane showed great poachers’ instinct for the first and third goal, while composure from the spot helped him to score his second goal.

Since Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was also in the starting XI, Kane often dropped deep to collect the ball and spray passes in the final third. He managed to make a pinpoint accurate pass for Leroy Sane’s goal in the first half. The England international also played a simple but crucial pass in the second half to set up Mathys Tel’s goal. With a hattrick and two assists, Kane was deservedly the man of the match for Bayern on Saturday.

Leroy Sane

Leroy Sane has slowly and steadily improved across five games for Bayern this season. The German forward is effectively one of the first names on the teamsheet for Thomas Tuchel. Sane continued to repay Tuchel’s faith by delivering another impressive performance on Saturday.

The German international created three chances against Bochum. He was at the heart of every big chance Die Roten were creating. Sane also retained the ball to a great effect while playing on the right flank. He had a passing accuracy of 91% against Bochum. The 27-year-old winger showed great composure to slot the ball past the goalkeeper to quadruple Bayern’s lead in the first half. Sane’s performance had everything that you expect from a quality wide player.

Noussair Mazraoui

Thomas Tuchel had insisted on Friday that Konrad Laimer is ahead of Noussair Mazraoui in the right-back position. However, both players started against Bochum. Laimer slotted in a more natural midfield position, while Mazraoui played in the right-back position. The Moroccan full-back delivered an excellent performance to give Tuchel a welcome selection headache for the next few games.

Mazraoui was linking up brilliantly with Sane on the right flank. He was also tidy on the ball, completing 85% of his passes. The 25-year-old defender also made vital interceptions and blocks to preserve the clean sheet for the team. Mazraoui managed to put an icing on the cake by getting the assist for Kane’s final goal.
