Bayern Munich completed all transfers last summer with the help of a transfer committee, which was created at the end of the last season. Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn left Bayern due to poor decision-making over the 2022/23 campaign. The transfer policy will be now designed by the newly appointed sporting director Christoph Freund.
The Austrian sporting director took charge of this role at Die Roten on September 1. He will work together with Marco Neppe to identify the best talents for the first team. Thomas Tuchel had a lot of authority in the summer regarding transfers, unlike previous Bayern managers. The German coach will keep playing a crucial role, but his duties will be equally shared by Freund.
Christoph Freund did a fine job at RB Salzburg when it comes to identifying the best young talent across the globe. The Austrian is looking to do a similar job in Munich when it comes to nurturing the best young talent. Freund’s first signing may align with the strategy of acquiring the best young players from different corners of the planet.
According to Sport1 (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern remain in talks with Adelaide United to sign Nestory Irankunda. The Bavarian club wants to bring Irankunda as soon as he turns 18. The 17-year-old forward is one of the most exciting talents in Australia’s top division.
FTBL in Australia has given more details about Die Roten’s pursuit of Irankunda. The Bundesliga club wants to integrate the youngster straight into the first team. Plan A for the youngster is to train with the first team and eventually contribute on the pitch.
Irankunda can play across the front three. He excels in the wide positions but can play behind the striker or as a forward. The teenager will have a lot of competition in the first team at Bayern. However, the experience of training with them and staying around the first team setup will be valuable for Irankunda. It will be interesting to see how Thomas Tuchel will integrate him into the first team. Bayern will look to reach an agreement with Adelaide United before the start of the winter transfer window.

Bayern adopted the same approach for Alphonso Davies a few years ago. The Canadian arrived from Vancouver Whitecaps at the age of 18. He trained with the first team and eventually became one of the best full-backs in the world over the last four seasons. Jamal Musiala also found himself in the first team at a young age and eventually cemented his place in the squad.
