Bayern Munich: Inter Milan submit bid for Benjamin Pavard
The last few days of the transfer window could see the departure of Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich. The French defender has entered the last year of the contract, and he has no intention of signing a new deal. After Manchester United, another European club has made a concrete move for Pavard.
According to Bild, Bayern has received a bid worth €25 million for Pavard from Inter Milan. The Bavarian club wants €35-40 million for Pavard, so the first offer from Inter is likely to be rejected. Inter Milan is not eager to go over €25 million for the French international. Sky Sports in Italy has also confirmed Inter’s first bid for Pavard.
Bild is also reporting that Pavard told Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dressen on Wednesday that he wants to leave the club. Pavard started against RB Leipzig in the DFL Supercup final last weekend. The French defender was hooked at halftime as Bayern were 2-0 down. However, Pavard has been a consistent player for Thomas Tuchel. The German coach is eager to see Pavard stay in Munich for next season.
Despite Pavard’s consistency in performances over the last four seasons, Bayern cannot afford to lose him on a free transfer in the summer.
