With Harry Kane finally sealing a move to Bayern Munich, it is the right time to assess Thomas Tuchel’s options in the attack for the new campaign. The English forward will lead the attack as he was Die Roten’s top target for the number nine position.

Notwithstanding a subpar defensive performance in the German Super Cup on the weekend that resulted in an embarrassing 3-0 home loss to RB Leipzig, Bayern were quite profligate in attack. Kane made his Bayern debut in the second half, but the English forward couldn’t make an instant impact since he had only one training session with the team.

Die Roten often struggled for goals in crucial games last season. They lacked the focal point in the attack after Robert Lewandowski’s move to FC Barcelona in the last summer transfer window. Kane will be filling the void left by Lewandowski next season. Meanwhile, other forwards are also expected to step up this season after a disappointing 2022/23 campaign.

The Bavarian club is not expected to add more players to the attack before the end of the transfer window unless there is a surprise departure. With that out of the way let’s have a look at Bayern’s attacking options for the upcoming season and how the undesirable profligacy can be minimized.
