It has been a very productive transfer window for Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club managed to complete a deal for their top target- Harry Kane before the start of the Bundesliga. Die Roten has also addressed midfield and defense this summer, and more incomings are likely to take place before the deadline day.

The Bundesliga champions could also lose one crucial player before the end of the transfer window. Manchester United continues to push for the signing of Benjamin Pavard. According to Bild, Pavard is also eager to seal a move to Old Trafford this summer.

Bild also reveals that Manchester United has already made an offer for Pavard. The English side is ready to pay close to €29 million for the French defender, but Die Roten has no plans to sell Pavard. Moreover, they value Pavard at €45-50 million, so there is a significant gap in both clubs’ valuation of the defender.

Pavard made it clear to Bayern Chiefs at the end of the season about his desire to leave Munich this summer. The French defender publicly admitted in December that he is ready to listen to new projects. Rekordmeister rejected an offer from Inter Milan in January as they didn’t want to lose Pavard midway through the season.

The French defender has consistently admitted that he wants to play in central defense. However, Die Roten is well-stacked in this position. Pavard had to settle for the right-back position since arriving from VfB Stuttgart in 2019. The Frenchman has done a commendable job in this role, which is why Bayern is eager to keep him this summer.

Bayern risks losing Pavard for free transfer next summer if they don’t entertain bids for him in the final two weeks of the transfer window. The French defender will be free to negotiate with clubs for a pre-contract agreement in January.

The Bavarian club had identified Manchester City’s Kyle Walker to strengthen defense this summer. The English defender would have replaced Pavard in the squad as he can play in the right-back and center-back positions. However, Walker decided to stay at Man City despite agreeing personal terms with Die Roten. The Bavarian club will have to look for a new replacement if Pavard continues to push for a transfer.

Manchester United is likely to come back with another offer, but they are unlikely to match Die Roten’s valuation. Pavard has made it clear that he will not sign a new deal, so it will benefit all parties if a deal is concluded sooner rather than later.
