Bayern Munich agree fee with Tottenham Hotspur for Harry Kane
Bayern Munich are rarely involved in transfer sagas as they focus on getting deals done without much fuss. However, this summer has been different for Bayern. They have been chasing the signing of England’s all-time top scorer Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur. It does look like the long transfer saga is coming to a sweet end for Die Roten.
According to The Athletic, Bayern have reached an agreement with Tottenham to sign Harry Kane for a fee in excess of €100 million. Kane has a decision to make as per this report since the two clubs have reached a complete verbal agreement over fixed fee and add-ons. Every other media outlet has also confirmed this news, while Sport1 in Germany is reporting that two clubs have started the paperwork to complete the deal today before the player undergoes medical.
Bayern had reportedly agreed personal terms with Kane long before they started pursuing this deal. The English striker had productive talks with Thomas Tuchel. It does look like a matter of time before this move will be completed in the coming days.
The Bundesliga champions would ideally like Harry Kane to be in the squad for the first Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen on August 18. The England international also wants to sort out a move before Spurs begin their season against Brentford on Sunday.
Bayern made Kane the top transfer target at the start of the summer transfer window. After assessing several striker options, Die Roten decided to go all out for the 30-year-old English striker. The Bavarian club had three bids rejected for Kane before a fourth and final bid was accepted by Spurs on Thursday.
The Bundesliga champions have managed to fend off interest from the likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in Kane to reach an agreement with Spurs. It will be a monumental signing for Die Roten and Bundesliga since Kane is one of the best strikers in Europe.
Kane will be a game-changer for Bayern. The England international scored 30 goals in the Premier League last season. Die Roten often lacked a focal point in the attack last season after selling Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona. Kane will add more goals to the team and also enhance their attacking play with his creativity in the final third.

The only concern regarding this transfer is Kane’s age, as he turned 30 two weeks ago. Kane’s fitness record has been very good in the last few seasons, which suggests that he can easily play at the top level for at least next four years. Nevertheless, it is an exciting transfer for Bayern as they look to challenge on all fronts next season.
