Bayern Munich has been very efficient this summer in terms of adding more quality to their defense. They quickly replaced Joao Cancelo with Raphael Guerreiro. The former Borussia Dortmund full-back arrived on a free transfer. Meanwhile, Napoli’s Kim Min-jae arrived at Bayern before the pre-season tour to replace Lucas Hernandez in the squad.
Hernandez was considered a key player by Bayern, but the French defender wanted to experience a new adventure. He decided against signing a new deal, which forced Die Roten to agree a fee with Paris Saint-Germain. The Bavarian club received a club record fee for the French international.
Along with Hernandez, Benjamin Pavard also wants to leave Die Roten in the ongoing summer transfer window. Pavard had rejected a new contract proposal from Rekordmeister last season. He told club chiefs about his desire to leave Bavaria to experience a new adventure. Despite playing regularly during the pre-season games, Pavard has not changed his mind.
According to Bild (viaiMiaSanMia), Pavard remains keen on sealing a transfer away from Bayern before the end of the transfer window. Despite Thomas Tuchel admiring his qualities, Pavard has no plans to sign a new contract at Bayern.
The Bundesliga champions are yet to receive a concrete offer for Pavard. Manchester City, Manchester United, and Juventus have been recently linked with Pavard, but the initial interest has not been translated into concrete bids. Die Roten will demand a minimum fee of €30 million for Pavard.
Pavard publicly expressed his desire for a new experience at the end of 2022. The French defender is reportedly looking for a project where he can consistently play in the center-back position. The 27-year-old defender has consistently admitted that he wants to play in the heart of the defense in the long run.
Bayern has largely used Pavard in the right-back position over the last four seasons. The French international got the chance to play in central defense last season due to injury problems with other center-backs. However, Pavard will struggle to get meaningful game time in central defense next season since there are three senior center-backs already in the squad.

Rekordmeister cannot afford to lose Pavard on a free transfer, so they will hope a substantial bid for him arrives before the end of the transfer window. Tuchel and the Bavarian faithful will hope that Pavard does a U-turn and decides to extend his stay in Munich with a new contract.
