The prime objective for Bayern Munich this summer is to strengthen their attack by signing a number nine. The Bavarian club often struggled last season in the final third due to a lack of a prolific goalscorer. Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been identified as the top target by Die Roten to improve their attack this summer.
According to Bild, Bayern is set to have crucial talks with Spurs chief Daniel Levy on Friday to find a breakthrough regarding the transfer of Kane. Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dressen and technical director Marco Neppe have stayed in Munich to hold talks with Levy.
The Bavarian club reportedly had two bids rejected for the English forward. Spurs continue to insist that Kane is not for sale this summer. The English club has reportedly offered a lucrative contract to Kane, but the forward is in no rush to sign it as he enters the final 12 months of the current deal.
Thomas Tuchel and Bayern have got enough encouragement from Kane to pursue the transfer. The English forward reportedly held productive talks with Tuchel. Bayern also has an advantage over Manchester United (Another interested club in Kane) that Spurs is reluctant to sell their prolific striker to a rival in the Premier League.
The latest updates regarding Kane in English media will give more confidence to Bayern when it comes to completing the deal for the 29-year-old striker. According to The Daily Telegraph, Spurs owner Joe Lewis has told Levy to consider selling Kane if he cannot convince the English forward to sign a new deal. Lewis doesn’t want to lose a world-class player like Kane on a free transfer next summer.
The next couple of weeks are likely to be decisive in the pursuit of Kane. Bayern will prefer to have a new striker in the squad before the start of the season. Meanwhile, Bild reported last week that Kane’s wife has already been to Munich recently to explore arrangements for the family if a transfer goes through.
Bayern will have to come up with a bid worth £100 million to seal the deal for Harry Kane. Levy and Spurs will find it difficult to turn down such an offer if Kane has no plans to sign a new contract. Kane will be free to talk with interested clubs for a pre-contract agreement in January if a transfer doesn’t materialize in the next six weeks.

Apart from Kane, Rekordmeister is also working on a deal to sign Kyle Walker from Manchester City. The two clubs are set to hold talks this week as they play a pre-season friendly in Japan on Wednesday. Walker has verbally agreed a contract with Die Roten, so the two clubs need to find an agreement over the transfer fee.
