Ahead of the pre-season tour later this month, Bayern Munich is working on transfers to get the squad ready for Thomas Tuchel. The Bavarian club is working hard on a deal to bring Harry Kane to Allianz Arena after completing deals for Konrad Laimer, Kim Min-jae, and Raphael Guerreiro.

Die Roten also needs to make space in the squad for new signings by parting ways with fringe players. Marcel Sabitzer is one of the senior players that looks destined to leave Bavaria this summer. The Bavarian club is open to selling the Austrian midfielder instead of sanctioning another loan deal.

According to Sky Italy’s Gianluca di Marzio, AS Roma does hold an interest in Sabitzer, but negotiations are yet to take place with Die Roten. The Austrian midfielder is looking forward to convincing Thomas Tuchel about keeping him in the squad at Die Roten next season.

Meanwhile, Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy (via iMiaSanMia) is reporting that Roma wants to sign Sabitzer on a season-long loan from Die Roten. He has also been linked with a move to Besiktas. The Bavarian club has made it clear that they prefer a permanent departure for the Austrian midfielder instead of a loan move.

Marcel Sabitzer is expected to report for pre-season training at Sabner Strasse later this week. He was working on his recovery from a minor injury at Die Roten’s training ground in June after returning from a loan spell at Manchester United. The Red Devils decided against signing Sabitzer on a permanent deal after a positive loan spell.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano and Bild have previously reported that Die Roten is looking to get a fee close to €15 million for Marcel Sabitzer. The Bavarian club had paid a similar fee to sign him from RB Leipzig two years ago. The Austrian midfielder has two years left on his deal, so it is the right time for Bayern to cash in.

Sabitzer has endured a disappointing spell at Die Roten. He has struggled for consistent playing time in the last two seasons. The 28-year-old midfielder sealed a move to Manchester United on the final day of the winter transfer window to get playing time in the second half of the season. He delivered positive performances for the Old Trafford side, but they are looking to sign other midfielders over Sabitzer this summer.

With the addition of Konrad Laimer to the squad, Sabitzer will find it difficult to play regularly at Bayern next season. Moreover, the Bundesliga champions are also looking to sign another midfielder. It will be better for all parties that a permanent transfer is completed before the end of the transfer window.
