There has been a significant development in the past couple of days over Bayern Munich’s search for a new striker. Bayern Munich had a second bid rejected for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane. The Bavarian club is expected to come back with a third bid for the English striker.

Die Roten does feel like they have got significant encouragement from Kane to make bids for him. Thomas Tuchel reportedly held productive talks with Kane. Spurs continue to insist that they will not sell Harry Kane this summer, so it is a game of chess right now.

Bayern must be ready for the worst possible scenario while pursuing the deal. Manchester City also struggled to sign Kane from Spurs two years ago. They eventually signed Erling Haaland a year later. Die Roten has the luxury of playing the waiting game since Kane will be a free agent next summer. The Bundesliga champions do have a couple of alternatives in case they fail to sign Kane.

According to SportBild, Bayern may pursue loan moves to fill the vacant striker position. Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez and Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic are the two players on Die Roten’s shortlist for loan moves if the pursuit of Harry Kane is unsuccessful and he is ready to join on a free transfer next summer.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Man City has no plans to loan Alvarez out for next season after the report from SportBild came out. The treble winners have already extended the contract of the Argentine forward as they are pleased with his performances last season.

The situation of Dusan Vlahovic is slightly different. The Serbian striker has been heavily linked with a move away from Turin this summer. Juventus is unlikely to loan out Vlahovic if he wants to leave. Despite Die Roten’s good relationship with the Italian club, signing Vlahovic on loan will be a difficult deal to complete.

Apart from Vlahovic and Alvarez, Die Roten has also been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani. PSG is also interested in signing the French striker. Meanwhile, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen was also subject to interest from Bayern, but he is unattainable this summer since the Italian club wants €200 million for him.

For now, Bayern is going all out for Kane. The English striker is set to hold talks with Spurs on Wednesday as he reports for pre-season training. Spurs are ready to offer him a new deal, while Die Roten is ready to bid one more time to sign him this summer. It remains to be seen who will blink first.
