Julian Brandt – €40m
Of all the potential Dortmund transfers to Bayern, this is the most exciting.
Brandt managed to build on the 2021/22 campaign by scoring nine league goals last season, answering anyone criticizing his desire to be consistent. And there seems to be no better time than now if he is to follow in Lewandowski’s footsteps.
On the basis of last season, some would say there is a dreaded ‘transition period’ already in flow at Bayern, beginning with Lewandowski’s departure last year. The increasing likelihood of Sadio Mané following him somewhat underlines this feeling.
That only puts additional pressure on the recruiting staff to find proven players in the magic 25-28 age category. And he also compared reasonably well across the league in several key metrics too:
- Total asissts: 8 (Bundesliga rank: #9=)
- Key passes per game: 2.3 (#4=)
- Crosses per game: 1.5 (#9=)

On his day, the versatile Brandt can do just about everything. And it is this element of surprise that Bayern could have done with at times during 2022/23 to avoid the last-day drama that left them so reliant on a favour from mid-table Mainz.
- Likelihood: 5/10
- Value: 8/10
While Thomas Muller isn’t in dire need of a long-term replacement in that ‘number 10’ slot just yet, it’s hard to think of many others already in the Bundesliga who could take the torch from the world’s greatest Raumdeuter with minimal disruption to the existing setup.

Dortmund transfers to Bayern – Summary
When it comes to potential Dortmund transfers to Bayern, signing Brandt and Adeyemi over the next several windows is highly advisable. Meanwhile, there needs to be a lot more thought with Reyna, and 2023/24 will be vital for him to be considered in the same category.
