Karim Adeyemi – €40m

You can never have enough pace on the counter, as Bayern found out against Manchester City in that brutal Champions League quarter-final drubbing.

So who better to court first than a man who broke the Bundesliga’s record sprint speed back in February? Perhaps the only minor warning sign here is a modest strike rate of exactly one goal in every four appearances last season.

Admittedly, it’s a huge dip from his last season with Red Bull Salzburg. Yet, the toughness of transferring from a side that typically saunters to title after title cannot be underestimated, and at just 21, the sky is surely the limit for the Munich-born Karim Adeyemi if he joins the ranks of Dortmund transfers to Bayern.

Verdict

  • Likelihood: 6/10
  • Value: 7/10

The Bundesliga simply hasn’t seen anything yet from him. At a conservative guess, he’ll easily be worth another €10-15m a year from now. The thought of what he could do with accuracy that can only improve with time, alongside the deliveries from men like Thomas Muller, is already breathtaking.

Bayern Munich has always signed promising young German talents, so it was surprising to see them not getting involved for Adeyemi when he was leaving RB Salzburg. The Bavarian club can undo this mistake by getting him from Dortmund, but it may come at a big price since he has four years left on his contract.
