The transfer activity at Bayern Munich has stepped up in the last couple of weeks. Die Roten has started talks with Paris Saint-Germain for the sale of Lucas Hernandez. They have already completed deals for Konrad Laimer and Raphael Guerreiro. Bayern also had an opening bid rejected for Harry Kane.
Kane has emerged as the top target for Die Roten. Tottenham Hotspur has no plans to sell, but Bayern has reportedly agreed personal terms with the English forward. Rekordmeister is expected to return with an improved bid for Kane.
For the second consecutive summer, Bayern is looking to sign a forward from a top Premier League club. The Bavarian club has clinched the signing of Sadio Mane from Liverpool last summer. The Senegalese forward also had one year left on his contract at the Merseyside club.
Mane endured a difficult debut season at Bayern. The Senegalese forward struggled with a serious injury in the first half of the season, ruling him out for three seasons. There has been speculation over Mane’s future in Bavaria, but the 30-year-old forward expects to report at Sabner Strasse for pre-season training. While talking to 2stv in Senegal (via iMiaSanMia), Mane insisted that he wants to successfully overcome challenges at Bayern.
"“Yes, God willing. If everything goes well, I’m going to return to Bayern.”“I’m on vacation with the family. It was a very complicated season, it happens. It wasn’t a surprise, I expected things to be a bit complicated. It’s normal. I love challenges, & Bayern is a big challenge. It’s up to me to do everything to meet this challenge.”"
Sadio Mane ended the season with 12 goals and six assists for Bayern across all competitions. Despite getting a considerable number of goals and assists, Mane’s performances were far from consistent. He eventually lost a place in the starting XI under Thomas Tuchel due to inconsistent performances.
Along with struggles on the pitch, Mane also had a bust-up with Leroy Sane in the dressing room after the defeat against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium in the Champions League. He was fined and suspended for a game by Die Roten for dressing room misconduct.
Sadio Mane has been subject to interest from Saudi Arabia, but it does look like he is eager to become successful at Bayern. The Bavarian club is reportedly open to listening offers for Mane since he is one of the big earners in the first team. Mane’s future will be subject to speculation until the end of the transfer window.

Mane has previously bounced back strongly after poor seasons at Liverpool. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he hits the ground running next season. The first step towards achieving this target will be convincing Die Roten and Thomas Tuchel during the pre-season tour that he can contribute heavily to the team’s success next season.
