They lacked a focal point in the number nine role, which affected them in crucial games. However, they had a very reliable wide player in Kingsley Coman throughout the campaign.
Coman was a menace to the opposition whenever he started on the left flank for Die Roten. The French forward has improved his decision-making in the past couple of seasons. A similar theme followed during the 2022/23 season as the former PSG forward was the most consistent winger for Bayern.
The French forward ended the season with eight goals and five assists in 24 Bundesliga games. Coman could have got more goals and assists if he hadn’t missed ten games due to injury. Along with providing the cutting edge in the final third, Coman also worked hard defensively while playing as a wide player. He continued to show a knack for scoring goals in big games last season, which included the crucial opening goal against FC Koln on the final matchday of the Bundesliga.
