The 2022/23 season at Bayern Munich will be long remembered for Jamal Musiala. The youngster established himself as a crucial member of the squad in the last couple of seasons. He took the next step in his development and cemented a place in the starting XI.
In the first half of the season, Musiala scored at a consistent rate to provide Die Roten a cutting edge in the final third. He ended the campaign with 12 goals in the Bundesliga (16 goals across all competitions). It was a prolific campaign for the attacking midfielder in front of the goal as he improved his efficiency in the final third.
Musiala witnessed a dip in his goalscoring form during Ruckrunde, but his performances, in general, were at a good level for Bayern. His excellent dribbling in tight spaces creates havoc in the final third. The youngster was also the creative focal point of the side, racking up 12 assists across all competitions. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder leveled up this season in all aspects of an attacking midfielder.
It was fitting that Musiala scored the winning goal for Bayern against FC Koln to clinch the Bundesliga title on the final matchday of the season. The young attacking midfielder has taken big steps in his development this campaign, but more is yet to come from him next season.
