Bayern Munich is expected to witness several changes to the squad during the summer transfer window. The transfer plans are set to be executed by Bayern in the coming weeks since the annual general meeting took place earlier this week.

Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic were not part of the general meeting since they parted ways with the club at the end of the season. The departure of Salihamidzic may impact the future of several players in the squad.

Mathys Tel is one of the players that could see his summer pan out differently than what he had hoped for a few weeks ago. According to Sport1’s Kerry Hau (via iMiaSanMia), Mathys Tel may go out on loan in the summer after the departure of Hasan Salihamidzic.

Salihamidzic wanted Tel to be part of the squad for the next season. The teenager’s representatives have also insisted that he will be staying in Munich to gain further experience and become a well-rounded forward.

In the final few weeks of the season, Thomas Tuchel suggested that Tel may need a loan spell to become a better forward. The French forward struggled for playing time under the German coach. He got a few minutes from the bench in a few games, but Tuchel’s comments did suggest that Tel was not ready to get regular game time in the first team.

Tuchel will have a big say in the transfers during the summer window. The departure of Salihamidzic has ensured that Tuchel will get more power at Die Roten this summer. The German coach will most likely try to arrange a loan move for Tel to make sure the teenager plays regularly next season.

Mathys Tel scored six goals across all competitions for Die Roten this season. He got only one start in the Bundesliga but delivered several impressive cameos from the bench. The teenager still has a lot of time on his side to improve, so it is not surprising to see him eager to stay in Munich next season.

However, the arrival of a new striker will further reduce Tel’s game time. He will be better served by joining a Bundesliga club for a season-long season. By the time he returns, Choupo-Moting’s contract will expire, and Thomas Muller will be on the decline. In such a scenario, Tel will get an ample number of opportunities. A temporary switch for Tel could help him to accelerate his development.
