Bayern Munich remain interested in Dusan Vlahovic
The new hierarchy at Bayern Munich has a big task of strengthening the team in the summer to make sure they compete well in all competitions next season. They have to fill the big void left by Robert Lewandowski last summer. Bayern is expected to sign a number nine this summer as they often struggled for goals in decisive games.
The sacking of Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic will have an impact on transfer. According to Sky Sports in Germany and Sport1, Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is now an option for the number nine role. Salihamidzic was reportedly against signing the Serbian striker.
Sky Sports has also reported that Bayern has initially explored a swap deal with Juventus involving Sadio Mane and Vlahovic. However, the high wage of Mane is likely to scupper this move. Moreover, Mane is not ready to leave Bayern after a difficult debut season. He is determined to get back to his best next season.
Tuchel is reportedly a big fan of Vlahovic and is open to working with the Serbian striker at Bayern. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has a good relationship with Juventus, so a transfer can be facilitated if a transfer materializes. Sky also reports that Harry Kane and Randal Kolo Muani also remain on the short-list.
Vlahovic has not been at his best for Juventus this season, scoring 14 goals across all competitions. It does look like a blip for Vlahovic since he was in sensational scoring touch over the last couple of seasons. He won the Young Serie A Player of the Year award during his time at Fiorentina.
The Serbian striker is still 23, so his best years are ahead of him. It does look like he may thrive in a team that creates at a better rate. Juventus will most likely look to recoup the majority of €80 million that they paid for him in January 2022. Along with Bayern, Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that Manchester United and Chelsea are also closely following Vlahovic’s situation at Juventus.
In the past month or so, it was widely reported in Germany that Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani is the top transfer target for Bayern. However, the change in club hierarchy may see a different striker arrive in Munich later this summer.

Vlahovic is the cheaper option for Rekordmeister in the current transfer market, as all other top-quality strikers will command a nine-figure fee. Die Roten will look to complete the business early in the window, so the next few weeks will give more clarity on their transfer targets.
