The attacking department of the senior squad at Bayern Munich is set to be strengthened in the summer. The Bavarian club is looking to sign a striker in the summer after struggling for goals in the decisive stages of the season.

The arrival of a new striker will have an impact on the playing time of other forwards in the squad. Mathys Tel is one of the players that may see a reduction in game time. However, the French forward is determined to continue his development in Bavaria.

In an official statement to TZ, Tel’s agent squashed rumours about the forward’s future at Bayern. The young forward is not weighing up a loan move for next season. Tel is eager to learn more at Bayern and polish the rough edges of the squad. He is determined to become a key player for Die Roten in the long term.

Tel came off the bench against Werder Bremen on Saturday to score for Bayern. The French forward has made the most out of his limited opportunities this season. He became the youngest goalscorer for Die Roten in the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal.

It bodes well for Bayern that Mathys Tel is hungry to learn and fight for game time by staying in Bavaria next season. The Bavarian club needs to make sure that they gradually increase his playing time to keep him on track to become a top-quality forward.

Tel is likely to be the third-choice option in the number-nine role at Bayern next season. The youngster’s versatility allows him to become an option in wide positions. The 18-year-old forward will eventually feature regularly in the starting lineup during his third season in Bavaria. The upcoming campaign is more about making an impact from the bench.

Bayern is currently looking to get a number nine that can fill the void left by Robert Lewandowski. The Bavarian club has reportedly identified Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani as the top target for this position. The 24-year-old striker is enjoying an incredible debut season at Eintracht Frankfurt after arriving from Nantes on a free transfer in the last summer transfer window.
