The upcoming summer transfer window is crucial for Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club needs key profiles in the squad that can help them to challenge for big trophies on a regular basis. The current campaign turned into a massive disappointment after poor performances in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and DFB Pokal.

Along with key arrivals, Bayern is also expected to part ways with a few players in the squad. Thomas Muller could be the high-profile departure at Die Roten. According to Bild, Thomas Muller is considering his future at Bayern after being reduced to an option from the bench under Thomas Tuchel.

Muller wants to play regularly and compete for big trophies, so he would ideally like to stay in Europe instead of moving to the Middle East or USA. The German forward is yet to hold talks with Die Roten regarding a transfer. If there is no change in his playing time, Bild suggests that he is likely to look for a move in the summer.

The German international did pour cold water on this report through an Instagram post earlier today. Muller is currently focused on the remaining three league games as Die Roten looks to retain the Bundesliga title.

Tuchel has preferred Jamal Musiala in the number ten role since taking over the role of head coach at the end of March. The youngster has repaid the faith of Tuchel by delivering solid performances in this position. Muller had to be content with appearances from the bench during this period.

The German coach has consistently praised Muller whenever the media has posed questions about the forward’s future. Meanwhile, Sport1 has also confirmed that Muller is yet to hold talks with the club hierarchy about his future. The German media outlet insists that Bayern wants to keep Thomas Muller until the end of the current deal (2024).

Muller has always bounced back from such setbacks in an emphatic manner. He has made changes to his game in the past to win back a place in the starting XI. However, at some time, Bayern will have to look at the long-term picture and back a young player to succeed Muller in the number ten position.

If Muller wants to play regularly, then a move away from Bayern in the summer will take place. The Bavarian club and Tuchel are likely to stick with Musiala in the number ten role after the youngster’s productive season. Things will be clear when Thomas Muller eventually holds talks with Bayern and Tuchel at the end of the season.
