The transfer speculation is set to go into overdrive as the 2022/23 season is close to completion. Bayern Munich is expected to spend heavily in the summer as they look to address key areas in the squad after disappointing results in DFB Pokal and Champions League.
The record Bundesliga champions want to add a new number nine to the squad in the summer. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has struggled for fitness this season, while a fluid front three has not worked well for Die Roten. The Bavarian club needs a prolific number nine to replace Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker left Die Roten last summer to join FC Barcelona.
The last few weeks have seen Bayern linked with several forwards. The latest update from Germany suggests that Die Roten has identified their top target for this position. According to Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani has become Bayern’s main target for the number nine position.
The Bavarian club is expected to open talks with Frankfurt for the French striker at the end of the season. Kolo Muani is reportedly open to sealing a move to Bayern in the summer. Frankfurt is expected to demand a nine-figure fee for him, but Bild suggests that Rekordmeister is ready to pay €60 million for him.
Bayern has cooled interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian striker has enjoyed a prolific campaign in Serie A, but Napoli will demand a fee close to €150 million for him in the summer. Die Roten cannot afford to pay this fee for one player.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane was also heavily linked with a move to Bayern. The English striker has one year left on his contract, but he is expected to stay in the Premier League. In such circumstances, Kolo Muani is the ideal long-term solution for Rekordmeister in the number nine position.

Kolo Muani has been one of the best forwards in the Bundesliga this season. He has scored 13 goals in the league (21 across all competitions). The French forward is also a creative outlet in the final third, bagging ten assists in the Bundesliga this season. He has seamlessly adapted to the Bundesliga after arriving at Frankfurt from Nantes in the last summer transfer window.
Uli Hoeness is also reportedly eager to see Bayern sign Kolo Muani over other strikers in the transfer window. It will be interesting to see how negotiations progress between Die Roten and Frankfurt since there is a stark difference between the evaluation of the player.
