Thomas Tuchel will soon hold a meeting with Hasan Salihamidzic to discuss summer transfer plans. The German coach has worked with the squad for a month to assess the key areas to address in the summer. The latest update from Germany suggests Bayern Munich has a priority list of three positions to address during the next transfer window.

According to SportBild’s Christian Falk and Tobi Altschaffl (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern has identified three priority signings for the summer. A striker and defensive midfielder top the list while signing a center-back will depend on the departure of Benjamin Pavard.

It is not a secret anymore that Bayern is going to spend heavily on a number nine in the summer. The Bavarian club has struggled with goals in decisive games this season. They had hoped to use a fluid front three to replace Robert Lewandowski last summer, but it has clearly not worked to a great effect this season.

Bayern is reportedly ready to smash their transfer record to sign a number nine. Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, and Randal Kolo Muani are some of the top strikers that have been linked with a move to Bavaria throughout the season. There will be more clarity on the number one target for this position after Tuchel’s transfer meeting with Salihamidzic.

In terms of improving the midfield options, Bayern has already agreed a deal with Konrad Laimer for a summer transfer. The Austrian midfielder is set to join as a free agent since his contract at RB Leipzig expires in June.

In addition to Laimer, Bayern and Thomas Tuchel reportedly want to sign a midfielder that can help them to control games in a better way. Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic has been recently linked with a move to Bavaria. The Croatian midfielder will be a good fit for this role since he has already played in this position at a high level. He also has the experience of working with Tuchel as the duo spent two successful seasons at Chelsea.

The center-back position is not an immediate necessity for Bayern. The Bavarian club is still hoping to convince Benjamin Pavard to sign a new deal. Moreover, they have three good center-back options in Dayot Upamecano, Matthijs de Ligt, and Lucas Hernandez. Die Roten will explore the market for a young center-back if Pavard forces a transfer in the summer.

Apart from these three positions, Bayern also has a decision to make regarding Joao Cancelo. The Portuguese full-back is currently on loan at Die Roten until the end of the season. Bayern does have the option to sign him permanently for €70 million, but they will renegotiate a fee if Tuchel wants Cancelo in the squad for next season.
